In 1906, a substantial 2 story red-brick extension was adding to create the building you see today. Over the years many owners have added their own unique changes to create a hotel that whilst still true to its history has changed with the times. Changes that have been made include such things as full air-conditioning for all rooms as well as the addition of 8 motel units which were added to the hotel accommodation.
The most recent changes were a substantial renovation between 2004 and 2006, when then publican/owner Mark McCarthy merged the public bar and lounge into one large open bar and who also created the large undercover outside area - allowing the area to be used all year round. These along with many other changes, rejuvenated the Avon Bridge for a new generation of patrons.
