About the Avon Bridge Hotel

The Avon Bridge Hotel is Northam's oldest pub, it began in 1858 as a 2 story building built from local stone which still stands today and is where our restaurant is located.

In 1906, a substantial 2 story red-brick extension was adding to create the building you see today. Over the years many owners have added their own unique changes to create a hotel that whilst still true to its history has changed with the times. Changes that have been made include such things as full air-conditioning for all rooms as well as the addition of 8 motel units which were added to the hotel accommodation.

The most recent changes were a substantial renovation between 2004 and 2006, when the public bar and lounge was merged into one large open bar, combined with the creation of the large undercover outside area - allowing this area to be used all year round. These along with many other changes, rejuvenated the Avon Bridge for a new generation of patrons.
